Legal Ethical Issues

Marcus, Jessica, Jaime, Sammantha

There were several members of the medical team at fault. The hospital had a degree of responsability to ensure proper proceduers, staffing, and training is provided. The MD has a high degree of responsability for taking out the E-tube, giving bad med orders, and failing to oversee the nurses and other personal. The nurse should have known the drugs should have been given, the epi was to much and the air was to high.

In regards to the court case, the nurse should first apoligies as it humanises the nurse to the jury, and may minimize his/her damages at trial.

We have learned from this to question unsafe orders, and to document thoroughly and in a timely manner and to stand up for our selves, becuase noone else will.

In conclusion I quote Spider man's Uncle Ben, " With great power comes great responsablity."
